This is a great desk. It’s very well-made. The mechanism moves the desktop up and down smoothly. It was relatively easy to put together. The basket that is mounted under the desktop is the Achilles heel. First it’s not an actual drawer it’s a fabric basket that slides back-and-forth on rails. We got the desk all put together and the last thing we attached before turning the desk right side up was the rails that screwed in to the bottom of the desk. When we turned it right side up, to our horror and dismay, the screws provided to attach the rails were too long and they were sticking right up through the desktop. We were very careful to use the right screws. The hardware was labeled very carefully to ensure that the right screws and bolts are used in the right places. The screws were just too long. I don’t know if someone made a substitution at the factory or if those are the standard screws for the rails, but they were too long. If we had any inclination that this might have been a problem we could have used the rubber washers that are provided in a handy bag of extra parts. The washers are actually used between the frame and the desktop and they had conveniently provided some extras. The directions didn’t say to use those rubber spacers when installing the drawer rails but they would have taken up just enough space to keep the screws from coming up through the desktop if we had known. We spent all that time putting it together and were so disappointed when we damaged it due to poor design. The desk is very heavy and we opted to take a discount rebate instead of going through the hassle of returning the desk and getting a new one and starting over putting it together. We just backed the screws out and removed the rails and basket, which was going to be an ongoing problem, we could already tell, and put a desk blotter over the damaged desktop. They really need to work on putting a real drawer on this desk, and providing shorter screws to attach the rails. So disappointed because this is such a nice desk. When you buy something nice and new you just want it to be nice and new. Hopefully they will work this out. R&D? Are you listening??Ive had this for a little over 2 years now and had an issue with the screws falling out on one side of the desk which was almost certainly my fault for being rough with it a few times and not checking clearance when raising or lowering the desk. Well I emailed them explaining what happened and attached images of my receipt and was told they'd be shipping a new table to me free of charge. It got here in a few days and was hands down the most hassle free experience I've had with warranties. I will be buying all my desks from them in the future and continue to tell people about how great these desks actually are. The motor is still going strong as well. You can buy with confidence knowing you're actually gonna have an easy time going through warranty service if you ever need it.The lock button is too easy for my 4-year-old to figure out. Had a bit of an accident where he raised the desk tall enough to get the chair to swivel underneath the desk. Then he lowered the desk onto the chair, and it tipped over. Fortunately, we got him away without getting hurt, and we grabbed the computer to prevent it from impact. After this, "ASR" was on the display. TIP: Hold the up AND down arrows at the same time and this will reset the desk. Works fine for now. So, 5 stars for sturdiness, no stars for child safety features. Or perhaps I should have bought a desk where all the buttons are hidden, but I'm on a budget.Epilogue: We turn the powerstrip that the desk is plugged into off and tuck it away behind a file cabinet when not in use. My kiddo's troubleshooting hasn't led to him figuring out how to turn it on... yet.It’s easy to assemble. Just follow the instructions. I did use my own tools. Took me less than an hour to put it all together. Comes with a set of flat sliders and another set of rollers for the legs of the table. Got two complaints about this. There is a funky scent from the wood that did not go away for at least 2 weeks. The drawer is not a drawer as it’s a cardboard wrapped in cloth that is held by thin metals on each side. Overall it looks to be a good product for the price.This took a little more effort to assemble than expected but appears to be well made. The main negative is that the top is two parts. I did not see this in the description (maybe it is there?), but after we got it, I went to look, and you can see it in the pictures. We got the bamboo top, though, and it is very hard to see in those pictures. If you plan to use this as a desk, it's not a big deal. This was an art desk for us, so it is not ideal. We kept the desk and plan to replace the top. I do not think the company did a good job on the description in this area. I gave it 4 stars because most people won't care about the top probably, and the desk is sturdy. For an art/craft table, it's probably not the best choice.I purchased this desk because most weeks I work four days from home. It’s large enough for two monitors, an iPad and my laptop, but small enough for my work space. The directions were easy to follow and made putting the desk together a breeze. Having the ability stand is a huge relief from sitting for hours. There is even a small drawer to help keep the desktop tidy.This is unquestionably the easiest furniture build I’ve ever had. Clear instructions with each part set separated and numbered, starter holes on all applicable pieces, and very sturdy packaging. The desk top is exactly as the photos appeared and the motor is smooth, quiet and incredibly easy to use. I’m in love with my new desk!Yes buy it. I purchased this desk for my home office. I am a person that has a hard time sitting still. The desk I purchased is the 48x24 in. I have 2 23in monitors, a laptop (which sits on a laptop stand) and a keyboard fits perfectly and even provides enough room for a notebook if I need to takes notes. It is easy to use to adjust from stand to sit. I have had this desk for about 10 months now and have NO issues.
