The base is heavy, preventing any one of the cats from knocking this over. The gooseneck is good and flexible, so I can point it down at my reading for focused light, or up at the ceiling for reflected light. The "knob" is a great round thing on the back, which both looks nice and is easier to deal with, being so large. Excellent item for anyone.
